The teaching method is based on the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Modern Languages) used by educational institutions in Western Europe. First your starting level is being determined - A0 (beginner), A1-A2 (basic user), B1-B2 (independent user), C1-C2 (skilled user) - and based on that, realistic learning objectives are agreed upon.
The Standard course aims on turning the beginning language user into an independent language user by teaching them to communicate and to understand the essence of texts as quickly as possible. The teaching material is based on everyday situations with current video and sound fragments. All language skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing and grammar) are practiced and regularly tested.
Language users that are already independent usually benefit more from a Customized course focused on their specific tasks, e.g. drawing up of (company) reports, mail and correspondence, editing of technical analyses and theses or preparation of presentations and examinations.
The course location is determined in agreement with the customer. The lessons may take place at DC Language Training in Hoofddorp, at the customer's home or in-company. For journeys outside Hoofddorp the standard allowance of 0.19 euros / km applies.
For Standard courses, the teacher will recommend a textbook after the intake, taking into account the language level of the student. The textbook also contains an access code for the online learning environment.
For Customized courses specific teaching materials will be chosen in consultation with the customer.
When you book lessons, these are planned in consultation with the teacher. To reschedule a lesson, please contact DC Language Training no later than the evening before the day of class, otherwise the lesson will be charged. Lessons can be rescheduled with a maximum of 4 hours per 10 booked hours.
You can park for free at DC Language Training (Fortius Hoofddorp) or at the Haarlemmermeer Lyceum at 2 walking minutes from DC Language Training.
